Hey gang, Letstalk still with you. I have decided to lay off of What’s the Matter with Kansas and just open up and let you have some of my own thoughts tonight. As for the race between er, ah, arrrgghh, UGGHH, help………me……..ARRGGGOOOSSSSSS……..HELLO KANSAS! THOMAS FRANK HERE, USING A FINE SPIRITUAL CONTRIVANCE I LEARNED FROM HILLARY. (SHE CLAIMS TO HAVE LEARNED IT FROM ELANOR.) I HAVE TAKEN OVER THE MIND AND BODY OF THE ROUGH BEAST CALLING ITSELF “LETSTALK” SO THAT HE COULD NOT BORE YOU WITH HIS OWN MORONIC IDEAS. HOW COULD HE, AFTER FINDING SO MUCH TO SHARE FROM MY HIGHLY DECORATED AND RIGHTLY AWARDED SEMINAL AND BRILLIANT WORK (ACCORING TO ALMOST EVERYONE WHO MATTERS) DEIGN TO THINK ANYONE WANTED TO HEAR HERINFANTILE IDEAS. LET’S INSTEAD CONSIDER THE URGENT WARNING FOUND ON PAGE 244-45 OF THE INITIAL PRINTING OF MY PROPHETIC WORD:
While I enjoy watching Republicans fight one another as much as the next guy, I don’t think the Kansas story really gives true liberals any cause to cheer. Maybe someday the DLC dream will come to pass, with the Democrats having moved so far to the right that they are no different than old-fashioned moderate Republicans, and maybe then the affluent will finally come over to their side en masse. But along the way the things that liberalism once stood for – equality and economic security – will have been abandoned completely. Abandoned, let us remember, at the historic moment when we need them most.
There is a lesson for liberals in the Kansas story, and it’s not that they, too, might someday get invited to tea in the Cupcake Land. It is, rather, an utter and final repudiation of their historical decision to remake themselves as the other pro-business party. By all rights the people in Wichita and Shawnee and Garden City should today be flocking to the party of Roosevelt, not deserting it. Culturally speaking, however, that option is not available to them anymore. Democrats no longer speak to the people on the losing end of a free-market system that is becoming more brutal and more arrogant by the day.
OK, LETSTALK WANTS TO SAY SOMETHING, SO I WILL LET HER UTTER ONLY ONE OF HER NONSENSICAL STATEMENTS TONIGHT. HERE IT IS: “Did all you Dems get your invites to the JOCO tea party this week? I hear the Queen has made cupcakes.”
I have surrounded myself with Snapple and am blaring Fox News over the television in a bid to stave off another possession by that darn commie Frank. I cannot guarantee it will work, but will be brief in an attempt to minimize the window he may try to climb in.
Spelling is merely a relative cultural norm. There are no hard and fast rules, only the oppression of orthodoxy by those who think that they can force their morality upon us. Liberate yourself from such dogma and live free in the land of self-made spellin. You have nothing to lose but yer chains.
I am sick and tired of your stiffer penalties.Your answer to everything is lock people up and throw away the key. I am a jail minister at the Dickinson Co. Jail in Abilene,Ks.. Many of these people don’t need locked up, most of their crimes are drug and alcohol related.Yet if they were to try to get help it’s not available because they don’t have a bed, yet they have plenty of beds in the jails.Try calling a drug or Alcohol treatment center and tell them you need help. While your doing it bare in mind you have a wife and two children to take care, not to mention your wife’s five months along.Recently I had a young man trying to get help but it became to complicated. He eventually gave up, to try it on his own.He later was arrested and given thirty six months in Lansing. He would have gotten out in Oct 2006 last month but he was beat to death in July 2006.He leaves behind a wife and two boys ages 7 and 9.His mother had to beg them for his body as they wanted to cremate him and send him home to Iowa, most of these families are poor and can’t afford good attorneys. His name was Jim Corley.I don’t care for Mr. Klines tactic’s either but I am campaigning for him because of your promise to provide stiffer penalties on crime when really what your saying is your going to attack the poor.SHAME ON YOU,a man of your position should be more compassionate and understand the needs of the people.
